PM Modi fires back at Sanjay Raut’s ‘Aurangzeb’ comment and takes aim at opposition

Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut alleged on Wednesday that there is a conspiracy against Maharashtra, whether it is “PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah who are ruling Maharashtra from Delhi via Gujarat”.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during the News18 Rising Bharat Summit 2024, criticized opposition parties for hurling a new “104th abuse” against him and comparing him to Mughal ruler Aurangzeb. He also addressed accusations made by INDIA bloc parties about his government misusing probe agencies against opposition parties, stating that actions “against corruption” will continue.

PM Modi emphasized that his government is working on a roadmap for the country’s progress over the next 25 years while opposition parties continue to hurl abuse at him. He noted the opposition’s 104th abuse calling him Aurangzeb and stated that they are setting new records of insults towards him.

Sanjay Raut of Shiv Sena (UBT) claimed that there is a conspiracy against Maharashtra, involving PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah ruling Maharashtra from Delhi via Gujarat. Raut drew comparisons between Shivaji’s birth in Maharashtra and Aurangzeb’s in Gujarat, insinuating a nefarious plot against their state.

Earlier in the day, BJP leader Sudhanshu Trivedi criticized Raut for his remarks, alleging that the opposition party aligns with those who glorify Aurangzeb. Trivedi pointed out that Shiv Sena’s association with figures like Aurangzeb and Afzal Khan is concerning.

PM Modi refuted the opposition’s attacks by stating that the support of the people outweighs the abuse he receives. He highlighted the government’s efforts against corruption and emphasized the use of technology to catch corrupt individuals.

PM Modi asserted that the new India does not tolerate terrorism and teaches a lesson to those supporting such violence. He referred to the Balakot airstrikes and underscored India’s stance against cross-border terrorism emanating from Pakistan-controlled territories.

PM Modi expressed confidence in the BJP-led NDA winning the upcoming Lok Sabha polls and outlined plans for the country’s development over the next 25 years. He highlighted India’s economic growth and global reputation under his government’s leadership.

Pakistan’s economic crisis and India’s progress over the last decade were also discussed by PM Modi during the summit. He emphasized the need for continued growth and development to position India as a global leader in the 21st century.
