Renowned filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma (RGV) has taken everyone by surprise with his announcement to venture into politics. He has expressed his plans to run for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections in Andhra Pradesh, specifically from the Pithapuram constituency.
RGV shared his unexpected decision to enter politics in a tweet, without divulging further details. This news came shortly after Jana Sena Party (JSP) president Pawan Kalyan also declared his candidacy for the same constituency.
Last year, RGV faced controversy over his film Vyooham, which delved into the political landscape of Andhra Pradesh. The movie sparked outrage among local leaders who called for his expulsion from the state. Vyooham shed light on events related to the passing of former Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy.
