Vijayawada: Tension heightened at the residences of Telugu Desam chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu in Hyderabad, Telangana, and Undavalli in Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday with ticket aspirants and their supporters flocking in large numbers seeking TD tickets.
Former MLA and Alur TD in-charge Kotla Sujathamma, accompanied by her supporters, visited Naidu’s residence in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad. She mentioned that the party had been losing the Alur segment for the past 25 years, but the party supporters wanted her to contest this time to secure a win. Despite their efforts, Naidu’s security personnel prevented her from meeting the party chief.
Similarly, at the Undavalli residence, former MLA Chand Basha and his supporters sought the ticket for the Kadiri seat. Despite Chand Basha’s five years of dedicated work for the party in Kadiri, the seat was allocated to Kandhikunta Prasad’s wife Yashoda Devi, which his supporters deemed unfair.
Chand Basha’s supporters even suggested allotting him the Hindupur LS seat if the Kadiri Assembly seat was not granted to him.
When the former MLA and his supporters approached TD general secretary Lokesh on the matter, he advised them to leave, asserting, “We already know who will succeed there.”
