Jonathan Majors’ ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari, testified in an NYC courtroom that she chose to attend a stranger’s birthday party instead of returning home to their shared apartment after he allegedly struck her in a cab in March. She claimed to have escaped from the SUV they were in on the Manhattan Bridge and sought refuge at a bar with strangers who came to her aid. She explained to jurors that she didn’t want to be alone and was grateful for the people who helped her.
Jabbari also mentioned buying her new friends a bottle of champagne as a thank you and taking shots of tequila at the bar. She said she started icing her finger at the bar in anticipation of waking up in considerable pain the next morning. Video footage of the alleged cab incident was presented in court, showing Majors getting out of the car and pushing Jabbari back in before she got out and chased him down the street. Jabbari claimed the fight broke out after she saw a text from a woman named “Cleopatra” in the cab and tried to take the phone, resulting in a physical altercation where she felt a “heavy thud” and a hard blow across her head.
Meanwhile, Majors’ attorney, Priya Chaudhry, argued that the injuries were actually sustained by Majors, who was scared of Jabbari as he attempted to flee from her as she chased him through the streets of Manhattan. This comes after Jabbari detailed how she first met Majors, how they got involved, and at what point he allegedly began showing aggression around her. She also shared a recording of the actor allegedly blowing up at her during another incident and claimed he lost his cool after she brought up her ex’s dog. Majors’ current girlfriend, Meagan Good, has been supporting him throughout the proceedings.
