The AAP and the Congress don’t hold any Lok Sabha seats in Delhi, where the BJP claimed victory in all seven seats in both the 2019 and 2014 elections. Shah confidently stated, “You can keep forming alliances but Prime Minister Modi will return to power with over 400 seats.”
Union Home Minister Amit Shah criticized the AAP for aligning with the Congress in Delhi for the Lok Sabha elections, suggesting that regardless of the alliance or merger with the Congress, nothing would change as “zero plus zero remains zero.”
The Aam Aadmi Party responded to Shah’s comments, emphasizing the people of Delhi’s preference for an “honest government.” They expressed confidence in ousting the BJP in the upcoming elections and further supporting Arvind Kejriwal in Parliament.
Shah condemned the AAP’s actions while inaugurating a piped natural gas supply line in 41 villages and development projects in 178 villages in Delhi. He was joined by Delhi Lt Governor V K Saxena and Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Puri.
Referring to the alliance between AAP and Congress in Delhi, Gujarat, and Haryana, Shah emphasized that it would not yield results. He criticized Kejriwal for forming an alliance with a party he once accused of corruption.
Shah also accused Kejriwal of being involved in multiple scandals and questioned his integrity. He pointed out instances where promises were broken and criticized the AAP-Congress alliance, reiterating Modi’s expected return to power.
In response to Shah’s claims, the AAP characterized the election as a battle between ”dharma” and ”adharma”, highlighting their focus on people-centric issues opposed to the BJP’s obstructionist approach.
The AAP recalled the public’s rejection of BJP in various elections and criticized the party for neglecting Delhi’s interests. They questioned the BJP MPs’ lack of advocacy for Delhi citizens’ rights and addressed the discrepancy in Central tax allocation.
